Dead & Company was formed in 2015 by original Grateful Dead members Bob Weir, Mickey Hart, and Bill Kreutzmann, along with guitarist John Mayer, bassist Oteil Burbridge, keyboardist Jeff Chimenti, and drummer Jay Lane (who replaced Kreutzmann in 2023). The band performs primarily Grateful Dead songs and has gained a large following, especially among younger audiences.
Despite their 2023 farewell tour, which was touted as their last, the band has since completed a 30-show residency at the Sphere in 2024.
